LYAO Presents: Mama Needs a Break Featuring Apple Brown Betty

Mama Needs a Break is an all-women comedy variety show. A blend of improv comedy and stand-up focusing on female cultural and social topics will leave the audience laughing and saying, “me too” (no pun intended). Hosted by Heather Winslow and Jenn Horne.

The show will open with improv from Bent Theatre’s premiere all-women’s improv comedy group Your Mom. Bent Theatre has been making audiences in Charlottesville laugh since Jenn Horne founded the group in 2004.

The second half will be a stellar stand-up performance from the one and only Apple Brown Betty. Apple Brown Betty engages the audience with the familiarity of your favorite aunt. She has performed up and down the east coast, including at the legendary Apollo Theater. ABB is guaranteed to leave you laughing, but also feeling better about yourself and the world we live in.
