RVA's newest nightlife experience comes to Charlottesville! Brought to you by Richmond's voted "Best Burlesque Performer" Deanna Danger!
Step back in time, begin the beguine, with Butchertown Burlesque at the Southern! A vintage classic burlesque series featuring the live jazz music stylings of the Butchertown Cats Orchestra!
In the olden days of lamp lit alleyways, dirt dusty streets and speakeasy's in the gritty city of Richmond, Virginia, existed the "Butchertown Cats." A gang that ruled the "Butchertown" district, an area that stretched from Shockoe Bottom to Church Hill, oft avoided unless one was brave enough to visit the back alley brothels, or pay a visit to one of the many butchers with swinging meat, lining the streets...
It was rough and tumble, the earnings were humble, but the jazz music rumbled, and the gin flowed like the James after a rain. "Butchertown Burlesque" brings a new brand of nightlife experience to the Southern from "Professional Purveyor of Good Times," and producer of "Holidays at the Jefferson," Deanna Danger, along with a rotating cast of burlesque starlets from around the US! Butchertown Burlesque harkens back to yesteryear when flappers and bootleggers reigned, with live music spanning the 1920s - 1940s from jazz quintet, the "Butchertown Cats Orchestra."
Featuring burlesque performances from:
Deanna Danger
