Corsair & We Are Star Children

with New Boss

About Corsair: Guitar dueling, harmonic riff wizards Corsair are back in support of their upcoming second full length album, "One Eyed Horse" to be released February 2015 by Shadow Kingdom Records. With comparisons to Iron Maiden, Wishbone Ash and Black Sabbath, Corsair ride the line between the early roots of heavy metal and the dawn of hard rock.

"...they're not only a metal act, but strictly speaking it's also misleading to pigeon-hole them as a traditional hard-rock band. There's certainly much of that to be found, and Corsair seems to be aimed squarely at the metal hard/rock fanbase(s), but "Corsair" has some serious crossover potential. It's the album you'll reach for when you have to please a car full of friends. As trite as it sounds, there truly is something for just about everyone in Corsair - vintage hard rock values coupled with progressive, genre-jumping sensibilities; but also giant-sized hooks and modern-leaning clean, bright melodies. All are married through cohesive, surprisingly textured songwriting that is immediately impressive, yet reveals a subtle depth with time." - Terrible Certainty ZIne

About We Are Star Children: We Are Star Children is a 6-piece "adventure pop" band from Charlottesville, VA. They veer in and out of conventional rock/pop arrangement: horn and synth cascade over a surging rhythm section, brazen enough to share lead with the advancing wall of rich harmony vocals. In their recordings and live shows alike, they continually dance with beauty and mayhem, occasionally spinning into a contemplative waltz or tip-toeing down an eerie alley, but ultimately whipping the crowd into a full froth. They frequent debaucherous fundraisers, host homegrown shows in bookstores, and bring down the house whenever they appear on stage.

We Are Star Children’s first LP, With Arrows, is anthemic and antic, propulsive and lyrically surreal: "adventure pop" at its finest. The album will keep you guessing, punctuating its opulent stretches of clear, dark sky with flares of revelry; the songs pull you into thickets of sonic entanglement, then break through to deeper spaces. Now that With Arrows is here, the age of Star Children is upon us and beckons another toast.
